Thompson Back in Action in Hungary

Gary Thompson is back in action next weekend on the second leg of his three event dip into the Formula BMW Europe series with a new sponsor supporting his race programme.
Thompson currently leads the Formula BMW Pacific series after five podium finishes in the first six races but with a break in action until August 16th this weekends Hungarian Grand Prix support event is the ideal opportunity for some quality competition.
Driving for Raikkonen Roberston Racing, Thompson is looking forward to racing on the same programme as the Formula One drivers in Sundays tenth round of the world championship and gaining important experience in his rookie car racing year.
Thompson tested at the Hungaroring in May and is well aware that mid summer temperatures in central Europe and the busy nature of the twisty circuit near Budapest mean hes in for a hectic weekend of race action.
Its going to be a real workout in the heat at the Hungaroring and thats just what I need to help prepare me for the next round of the Formula BMW Pacific series, says Thompson, Irelands Dunlop Driver of the Month for April.
Im looking forward to working with the Double R this weekend to see if we produce a good points finish. Testing went well and Im sure that if all goes to plan we can be factor in the results at the weekend, the Aviation Display supported driver added.
Thompson has two races at this weekends event, the first on Saturday afternoon followed by a second race on Sunday morning.
